serious casualties, injuries 重大傷亡one who is injured or killed in an accident: Examples: There were no casualties in the traffic accident. A magnitude-5.4 earthquake shook the Los Angeles metropolitan area Tuesday, leaving residents rattled but causing no serious damage or injuries.美國洛杉磯今天發生規模五點四的地震,居民驚慌失措,不過這場地震並未造成重大財物損失或人員傷亡.  An earthquake measuring 5.4 has caused buildings to shake across a wide area of southern California in the US. The quake was felt as far south as San Diego but there were no reports of any serious casualties or damage. 一場規模五點四的地震今天震撼美國加州南部的廣大區域,最南到聖地牙哥都可以感覺得到,不過並未傳出重大傷亡或損失.
